We masquerade behind our rights
Holding our truth, shining lights
On all of our enemies, they don’t understand our values.
If I could change this foundation
That grounds our liberal nation
Maybe it’s our truth?

Every day go about our way with our own truth in our hearts.
Forget the truth about our roots the republic is from the start.
A glowing hope tethered to a rope that keeps our thirst at bay.
For our views and the path we choose that lead each one astray.
Eventually we begin to see that we’ve run out of the rope we crave.
Compromise; our lives in disguise. I can see you.
