lyrics

Fuck! When did this become so damn hard?
Now I have to watch what I say and how I express it.
Limiting expression is simple supply and demand.
When the river runs dry the price will reflect it.
The groovesharks are culled but beware of their relatives.
Have you got a permit to swim?

Nevermind industry the laws are against us.
Watch where you place that beat or they'll surely arrest us.
Monotony has won and they slowly divest us.
The fortune's gone and they're glad to correct us.

Feathered vultures roam while we make it easy; they dine today, we're their prey.
They become airborne looking for the goldmine; minds to prey, our backs in black as we walk away.

The lady writes in time to a familiar swing.
Dancing alone to the tenuous pretense that nothing can come from what's come before.
The vultures turn expecting her to sing a verse they've heard before that will fill their bellies to the brim.
Just a note or two, that will do.

And now the jury have their say, can there be another shade of grey?
And as the gavel falls the vultures begin their feasting call.
When did it get so hard to speak, to voice opinions to a beat?
We should be grateful they protect the dead men listening in the sky...I wonder why.

Feathered vultures roam while we make it easy; they dine today, we're their prey.
They become airborne looking for the goldmine; minds to prey, our backs in black as we walk away.

Never to regain our way unless we pay the toll for what we say to they who never contribute a thing!

Endless dreams creeping under my skin.
Hard to let go the feeling that expression is sin.
More than the feeling that I can't breathe is the realisation that I'm not as strong as I seem.
Why does a rhythm have to end up being caught? When did a groove become a product to be bought?
There is no meaning if the feeling is a right to be exploited - how the fuck do they sleep at night?

Profits lead to ignorance, our unity to dissonance.
Why has all our influence become a means of recompense for industry and lying men - bleach blonde names of no importance!
Impotent. Don't lie to me, show yourself we all can see.
